Tofino 2021: An Engaging Affair

Back in October 2019, Sam won an instagram competition at Pacific Sands in Tofino. Initially planned for her birthday in March 202o (which was cancelled due to COVID) and then pushed back in March 2021 for the same reason; we had the chance to visit in April 2021.

Sam and I  love Tofino, and thus it seemed the perfect place to get down on one knee… more on that to come.

We had a 2 bedroom place so we thought we would invite our travel buddies; Jen and Navid (and of course Olive). After all I would need a photographer.

Hole in the Wall

On the way there, we stopped at the Hole in the Wall just outside Port Alberni. I had seen this on Instagram and had always wanted to visit. Its just off the highway so worth a 30 minute layover to check it out.

Pacific Sands

Sam won 3 nights in one of their gorgeous 2 bedroom villas. As you can see the views are out of the world

Engagement

I wanted to do the engagement on Friday night, get it out of the way because I was nervous. I had the plan to go for a walk in which Navid and Jen would excuse themselves. Take her out to the waters edge, say a few words and get down on one knee. Well it didnt really go to plan. Sam kept walking away, Jen jumped out too early after I hugged Sam because she was cold and the cat was out the bag. Anyways, she said Yes and we partied to celebrate.
