Baby Camping to Paradise Valley
With summer finally arriving we took advantage of our beautiful surrounds and organized a camping trip including June and Charlie. This would be Junes first camping experience and Charlies first big group camp. Initially planning on staying at Lucille Lake the early worms soon discovered the lake is privately owned and were evicted mid-Friday afternoon. So props to Jen, Navid, Emily and Ty (and Charlie) for packing up camp and finding the perfect spot at the end of the Paradise Valley road in Squamish.
The walk-in site is a popular camping spot so we were lucky to get 2 spots side by side giving ample room for everyone’s tents. I have noticed that our tents have increased as we have got older. Babies or not. Everyone is in 4-5-6 man over the old days squeezing people into tiny 2 men (well except Hannah and Russ).
We were joined by Emily’s sister Hannah (and bf Russ) and her best friend Emily (and her bf Ross.. yes thats right Friends fans).
Friday and Saturday morning we chilled by the Cheakamus river before heading about 1.5km (20-30 minutes) up a trail head to the wonderful (yet weirdly named) Starvation Lake. A wonderful lake to enjoy on a wonderful summers day.
There was a slight mishap as we say goodbye to the DJI Spark (RIP) but overall a wonderful couple of days enjoying beautiful British Columbia
With these two, you know there is going to be trouble.
Enjoying the wonderfully cold Cheakamus River
Starvation Lake
Like Olive; we are all shattered after a truly memorable weekend.
